Description

A rare and very fine official photograph of BL676, a Spitfire VB which was to become the first hooked Spitfire used for deck landing trials on HMS Illustrious before being converted to full Seafire specifications when she served with Nos 807 and 801 Naval Air. She was a Presentation aircraft purchased by the Dutch East indies Spitfire Fund, before the Dutch Colony fell Victim to the Japanese attack. The photograph is approximately 6 x 4 inches (150 x 100 mm), and is in Fine condition. On the reverse are printed details of the aircraft as shown in the second photograph.
