Description

A fine and most rare original photograph of LX-LGY, a Lockheed L-1649A Starliner of Luxair at Gatwick Airport in August 1958 prior to take-off on a flight to Malta. She was initially delivered to Air France as F-BHBR in 1957, moving on to Luxair in 1966 and then Trek Airways in 1968 before going back to the USA as N4796 with Nittler Air Transport, then TF-ERA and HP-501 in 1969. She was finally withdrawn from use at Douala, Cameroun, in 1971 and scrapped in 1980. The photograph is approximately 5½ x 3½ inches (135 x 85 mm), and is in Fine condition, with nothing on the reverse
