An outstanding two print set paying tribute to the Bomber crews who flew the long and arduous Pacific missions VALOR IN THE PACIFIC By Robert Taylor B-29s of the 499th Bomb Group, 73rd Wing of the 20th Air Force return to base after a long range bombing mission during the final stages of the War in the Pacific. After a daylight raid on Tokyo, and showing all the telltale signs of combat over the target, the Wing of the world’s largest and fastest ever piston-engined bombers make their long over-water journey home, still many hours away at Saipan Island. At the extremity of their range, “little friends,” very-long-range P-51 Mustang escort fighters, peel off and head for home – leaving the mighty bombers to fend for themselves. Each print is issued with a matching numbered companion print 'Fortress Under Attack' THE SIGNATURES The main print of Valor in the Pacific is personally autographed by FOUR highly decorated B-29 pilots who few in the Pacific including one of the most famous Bomber Pilots of WWII - Bob Morgan. Colonel ROBERT MORGAN - the pilot of the legendary B-17 Memphis Belle , he later volunteered to fly B-29s in the Pacific Lieutenant CHESTER MARSHALL Brigadier General HENRY HUGLIN Colonel RAY BRASHEAR THE COMPANION PRINT - FORTRESS UNDER ATTACK 22nd Bomb Group B-17s under attack by Mitsubishi Zero Fighters over Rabaul, November 1942. Jay Zeamer’s crew was credited with 3 air victories on that mission.
